Class file cache

May 19th, 2005 by Thomas

We sometimes experience problems when updating classes through the CVS, which have an older timestamp than the one that was overwritten. I’ve been looking for this for quite a while and finally found out that and how Flash caches Classes as aso files:

More information from Macromedia (how to delete the cache)

A desktop tool to clear the class cache

Yes, it happens to me before and I used to delete the ASO folder manually… nice tool by the way :)

On German systems they’re located here:
    C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen[username]\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration\Classes\aso

Unfortunately the application I mentioned doesn’t work on German systems as it’s not configurable… so you’ll have to delete it manually.
